50 Years Local Preaching

Dr Gordon Terry celebrated 50 years as a Local Preacher with a special circuit service at Central on Sunday 18th May, 2008.

The service was led by the Superintendent Minister, Rev Anthony Hick who presented Gordon with a framed certificate of his achievement.

Gordon preached the sermon and chose the hymns which included old favourites like 'O Thou who camest from above' and 'Fill Thou my life' sung to the old tune 'Lloyd'.

Representatives, from the circuit and from other denominations, offered their congratulations and thanks for the dedicated service that Gordon has given over the years.

During the service there was an opportunity for all local preachers to take part in an act of rededication.

We congratulate Gordon on this achievement and thank him for all that he has done, and continues to do, as a local preacher and the many other roles that he has undertaken at Circuit level and within his local Church.
